Our mission
as the parish community of
Our Lady of Hope
is to give witness to the love of Jesus in our families, our parish community and the world.
Our parish has a wonderful spirit and all of us together make that possible. Many people, who were here before us, believed that God is bringing us together and guiding our steps. They often asked, "What if …?" or "Why not …?" They gave thanks for what is and they hoped for what could be. We ask the same questions and share the same hope. Those who come after us will continue the same tradition that has been fashioned by the people of Our Lady of Hope, St. Bridget, St. John Vianney, Sacred Heart and Holy Cross.
Registration
Each person is a valued part of our parish community. Therefore, it is important to register as a member of the parish. Doing so makes it possible for you to receive important communications from the parish office. It is also a prerequisite for celebrating baptism, confirmation or matrimony. Even if your primary residence is outside the area, or you live elsewhere for a part of the year, if you worship here on a regular basis, please be sure to register. You may obtain a Regstration Form from the office.
Bulletin Announcements
If you want to put an announcement related to parish events in the parish bulletin, write up the text as you want it to appear. Then, e-mail it to [email protected] The deadline for submissions is Monday at noon. Please note: bulletin notice content may be edited.
Sacramental Records
We are the repository for the sacramental records of the following parishes: Sacred Heart, Holy Cross, St. John Vianney, St. Bridget, and Our Lady of Hope. If you need a copy of a sacramental record, contact the Director of Religious Education, Mary Burntitus, at (518) 329-4711, ext. #11 or [email protected]
Money Management
General Principles to ensure responsible handling of money received for a parish activity:
Open Committee Meetings
The principal parish councils and committees are: Pastoral Council, Finance Council, Prayer and Worship Committee and Human Development Committee. People who are not members of these committees may attend a meeting as an observer after consulting with the council or committee chair.
Sympathy (Mass) Cards
Sympathy cards are available in the parish office during office hours.
Scheduling An Event
In an effort to coordinate events, the person responsible for the event must request permission by completing an Event Form (found on the wall rack in the parish hall) and submit it to the parish office. When the event is approved, an information packet is provided to explain basic guidelines about money management and the required record keeping. This procedure should also be followed each time an annual event is held.
